Kim Balmer has delivered therapeutic services within the SEAS consortium since 2014, which promotes emotional health and wellbeing services to children and young people aged 5 to 25 in groups and one-to-one.
Kim delivers one-to-one person-centred counselling sessions, establishing a trusting therapeutic relationship with the child/young person within a safe, confidential setting. She uses a variety of tools to measure the impact of her work with individual children and feedback from the children and the schools who have referred them is positive.
She also attends regular SEAS partnership meeting on behalf of her parent agency, Parenting 2000, helping to develop the partnership and its processes.
She is reliable and trustworthy, diligently completing all necessary monitoring required for her work with SEAS.
I would highly recommend Kim. Her approach was just right with my teenage daughter – sometimes direct but always supportive and with empathy. Kim provided both my daughter and I with tools and strategies to really enhance the long term benefits of her help. Without Kim’s help, which was immediate at times, life would have been badly different. Kim’s a game changer!
Kim has provided many services at my school. She has worked with some of my most vulnerable children with great success with the children in raising self-esteem, helping children to self-regulate their emotions and therefore improve their behaviour in school.
She has also worked successfully on family therapy within the school which has greatly helped to improve relationships in school and at home. Kim has also led a parenting course for a group of our hard to reach parents, her ability to communicate with adults ensured 100%. attendance.
Another key point for me as a school leader is the detailed and clear reports that she provides during working her sessions and at the end of the sessions
Thank you for being such a good mentor and for guiding me on the right path, I will always be thankful to you for supporting me emotionally and professionally throughout my placement work.
You have been such an integral part of my career and I hope to inspire others as you have inspired me, you are a warm caring person and I couldn’t of asked for anyone better to work alongside.
My success today is due to your support and mentorship and I value everything I have learned from you.
Warmest Regards and Best Wishes.
It is a pleasure working with you, you have become an integral part of Parenting 2000’s since you started in 2014. You are passionate, committed, dependable, and competent in working with Adults, Young People, Children and Families enhancing their emotional wellbeing.
You have a lovely friendly approach to your work yet are professional in all that you do. The commendable work you have done here over the years including facilitation has brought about some excellent outcomes for our families and improved their mental and emotional health/wellbeing.
‘from the minute I met kim I felt at ease. It might sound cliche but she really does embody the person centred approach. I felt safe, I felt seen and I felt heard. Going into counselling was a scary and unsettling thought but that was not the case with Kim. She honoured my process and walked alongside me throughout my journey. I cannot thank her enough for her compassion and the empathy she showed me. I have left this journey feeling empowered and ready for life’.
I went to Kim feeling absolutely desperate having not dealt with the emotions of a family trauma 37 years ago.
After just a few short counselling sessions with Kim I feel like a new person with all the strain lifted off my shoulders.
Kim is a very good listener, doesn’t judge you and encourages self belief. Kim gives you food for thought which you automatically process between sessions enabling self recovery and a real feeling of well being. I cant thank Kim enough for her tremendous help through a very difficult period to a new state of happiness.
